IBM announced exciting updates to the XIV Generation 3 solution on February 7, 2012, including:

-Inclusion of SSD caching to improve performance by 3Xs
-Mirroring between XIV Gen 3 and older models
-SW version 11.1 allows for management of up to 81 XIV systems from a single GUI
-Remote performance and capacity monitoring from Apple iPhones. (Application available in Apple iTunes stores)

These features will be generally available March 8th, 2012.
