The 3PAR business at HP is growing very quickly, and has generated unprecedented interest from customers across the region. HP continues to increase manufacturing capacity to meet the demand for 3PAR products in the market.

HP 3PAR represents a tremendous opportunity to scale your business to new levels. It is critical that you have the latest information on the process to order 3PAR products from HP, and your escalation path should you have questions or need updates on order status. Here are some facts that will help you better set expectations with your customers, and assist them in their planning for a new 3PAR purchase or upgrade.

Key Points to Remember
• The average lead time for 3PAR from order submission to customer receipt is 12 business days, plus shipping time. Please use this information to set expectations and help customers plan for their deployments.
• Avnet can submit orders and have them acknowledged by HP within 24 hours provided all information is on the order upon submission.
• Ship dates for 3PAR can take up to 3-5 business days to be assigned. If a ship date has not been assigned after 3-5 business days, please escalate (see below).
• 3PAR is 100% build to order. There is no finished goods stocking, so all products must be built for a specific order.
• Partners may work with Avnet for order inquiries. Channel order inquiries follow the SAME process as any HP Product. Avnet can escalate issues to the HP Operations team on your behalf.
• If the above process does not resolve your issue, please contact your HP PBM or Storage Specialist.

Special note on Upgrade Orders
Upgrades for any existing 3PAR product at a customer location, whether sold by legacy 3PAR or now as part of HP, requires the Serial Number of the unit being upgraded. Please ensure that the Serial Number of the frame to be upgraded is included in your request to Avnet.

Important HP 3PAR Ordering Information – change effective July 18
Beginning July 18, 2011, you will see a SKU (QR629B) priced at $1 that will appear automatically on all new F-Series and or revised F-Series configuration quotes in SBW, and quotes received from Avnet. This SKU is being implemented to assist the factory in building orders to customer specifications. This SKU is not required for any existing quotes created prior to July 18, as long as they are not modified. Once the configuration is modified, SBW will add the new SKU on the quote, which will result in the need for a revised Value Big Deal.
